The four main elements of a good construction management program are safety, cost control, scheduling an quality assurance.
Safety is brought to the forefront by starting each shift with a safety meeting informing all personnel of the work scheduled and the specific hazards involved in those activities.
Field cost controls are maintained on a daily basis with a summary of daily and cumulative charges reported every 24 hours. If the project experiences extra costs, the client is made aware immediately, instead of waiting for the surprise to appear on his invoice. Our field personnel and office staff are adept at minimizing extra charges; but, if they occur, we negotiate to ensure that our clients obtain a fair deal.
Scheduling plays a very important role in managing offshore construction projects. Beyond the project that is ongoing, there are several downstream activities that may cost the client substantial money and adversely affect future cash flow should the project's schedule slip. Our construction managers pay close attention to all of the critical path activities and look ahead to avert any possible actions that may affect the project's critical path.
A project completed on time and under budget without any accidents is our primary mission on all projects undertaken. However, if the quality of the work does not exceed specifications, then the overall project is a not a success. Project Managers and Inspectors work hand and hand to ensure quality.
